SADNESS!! WHY?!!!!

They look fine from above...
But awful from below.
Blossom End Rot strikes again?!  I just gave the planter a zap of calcium and hope it helps the Early Girls survive.  I had worried my cherry tomatoes were suffering the same plight but only one fruit was affected.... Fingers crossed.  Much to learn about this gardening stuff.

Urban Beauty

A surprise this morning that made taking out the trash so much nicer:
This one has gorgeous yellow spots... almost like freckles.
I selfishly picked this one and brought it indoors... anyone know what they're called?

Conversation with the audience:
A: Are you writing again?
KG: How did you know?
A: You're blogging.  You never blog.  Unless you're writing.
KG: Which I'm not because I'm blogging.
A: Uh huh.

Back to it....

I can't wait for Summer - Part 2

Some more photos.  I think water, fertilizer, and a round of seed will do the grass some good.  And a little bit of landscaping might help...  I think I need to look into plants that grow well in the Peninsula.  Again, suggestions welcome!

I can't wait for Summer

I know it is July, but my summer will start in September when my work season is over.  Although I'm desperately trying to finish a script for my deadline tomorrow, I can't help but to think of what is in store in the fall.  The first thing on the slate is to move from Southern California back up to Northern California.  Oh boy!  I have the movers hired (that's right, there's no way I was packing up and shipping out by myself again) and the dates set.  The best part: the World's Greatest Fiance picked out a cute little cottage near his work for us to live in and it came complete with an organic garden (not much is growing in it now, but I have high hopes).  Below is a preview of the yard I'll be adopting for the next year.  Clearly it needs some love and attention, so I'll be spending weekends in August to give it just that and will update accordingly.  (The furniture belongs the current tenant and will be leaving)
Feel free to give me suggestions for things to plant!

I splurged

And bought myself these pajama pants... er... writing pants.  They're supposed to make my script amazing.  Wink-wink, nod-nod.
Anthropologie of course.

Just the beginning!

Much more to be picked in a few days, but here is tonight's tasting:
Whoops!  Can't turn a photo on blogger...

It's Everyone's Birthday!

Some iphone pix of the 4th in Santa Cruz...

Future Coffee Table?

Heavily considering this 1910 baggage cart... have a hold on it until tomorrow.

Thinking of turning the little wheels under the table and maybe putting glass on top??

Just found this from Restoration Hardware which gives an idea of what it looks like with the wheels turned.
