Urban Beauty

A surprise this morning that made taking out the trash so much nicer:
This one has gorgeous yellow spots... almost like freckles.
I selfishly picked this one and brought it indoors... anyone know what they're called?

Conversation with the audience:
A: Are you writing again?
KG: How did you know?
A: You're blogging.  You never blog.  Unless you're writing.
KG: Which I'm not because I'm blogging.
A: Uh huh.

Back to it....

Lucha VaVoom!

I highly recommend checking out Lucha VaVoom! Some friends and I had ringside seats last week and it was such a wonderful evening of entertainment. Comedians, Mexican Wrestling, and Burlesque!

They have shows in a few cities.... keep your eye on their schedule and prepare yourself....

I miss you, I really do.

I just can't seem to get around to blogging these days.  Employment has made my off hours quite precious, and I'm really trying to stay away from the computer.  But today has been a day of reconnecting-- I thought I owe it to my wee blog audience to say an overdue "hello."  So hello.

Highlights of the weekend:
Corey Jo has chickens.
Caroline made bread.
Ian ate a panini.
Sol ran a race.
Letty worked.  And worked.
Carissa and Dwight moved (sigh).
Nathan and Randy's cat is alive and well.
Venice Home & Garden Tour with Lisa.
Barker Block tour with Bob and Russell.
Rip called.
Cha Cha Cha with Niniane.

Drinking a corona and will sit on the porch for a while with Albert Camus.  Until next time, know I love you.  I really do.

LA Eats

In the past two days, I've had the good fortune to be treated by some generous friends to some outings around town:

CASA - A friend is involved with this restaurant, and I am so glad he is!  Otherwise, I might have missed out on two of the best margaritas I've ever had.  Also recommend the guac and tacos.  I need to arrange a trip to MOCA just so I can come have cocktails here afterwards.

COMME CA - Muscadet, Burger medium rare, oysters, and bread you pull apart to coat with butter.  This place is consistently delicious, and I love the depth of the seafood menu.  Great for lunch, dinner, or very late dinner.

NOBU - The epitome of how people stereotype Los Angeles.  A Lindsay Lohan sighting just about sums up the clientele, and I'm sure you can imagine the atmosphere and food to match!

One of my New Years Resolutions is to embrace Los Angeles as if it is (...and it is) my home.  By getting out to different parts of the town and spending time with people I adore... this might be one resolution I can keep!
